American Airlines or Continental

Hi

Flying to Vegas late September from the UK.

Can anyone advise which would be the best airline to go with?

Cheers

I've flown American a few times and have reservations to use them again. The staff is professional and they get you where you want to go, reasonably on time. The in-flight food that you have to pay for is mediocre. They've basically become a no-frills airline. It's basic transportation, but they get the job done.

Both airlines are roughly the same price.

Would you recommend any other airlines....perhaps Delta??

They're really all going to be virtually the same, at least in Coach. Go with the one that gives you the easiest connection and the cheapest price.

Continental by a slight edge. At least they still feed you for free on many flights where food is not available on other airlines. Connection- I would take Newark over Chicago.

I'd much rather connect in Newark than Chicago.

I've been flying on American everytime, so that is all I can comment on. The last trip back was delayed by an hour out of Vegas, and luckily all AA flights were delayed when we finally got to Dallas, so we didn't miss our flight. I'd go with the cheapest flight......Delta will more than likely be very much higher than the others though.

The International portion of your flight will have food on any airline, so it's still a toss-up between Continental and AA there. But for me the deciding factor would be connecting in Newark instead of Chicago.

Neither of which is a great place to spend any time, but Newark is marginally better than Chicago, and your flight from the UK would be shorter at least to Newark. (Longer of course to get from Newark-Las Vegas, but that's the trade off)
