vegas on my own

I am a single woman of a certain age, and find that I will be in Las Vegas the day before my friends are joining me....so I have a day, and evening, to myself....what do you recommend for evening entertainment (a Thursday night) and/or a decent restaurant where eating alone will not be an issue.

Thanks

Eating alone shouldn't be an issue anywhere, there are thousands of solo travelers in town everyday. Where are you staying and what kind of budget/cuisine do you have in mind?

I would also suggest going to see a show. Sometimes you can get a really nice seat when you are only purchasing 1 ticket.

I travel to LV solo quite frequently. I've never had an issue dining by myself, be it something casual or something fancier. Sometimes I sit at the bar, sometimes I ask for a table, depends on my mood. I also go to shows and concerts by myself and have never had an issue. Lots and lots of solo travelers in LV.

I go to Vegas solo quite a bit. You'll be ok in pretty much any restaurant you choose, although I too, often feel a little less awkward if I eat solo in the bar of a nice restaurant. One of my favorites for that is Fleur. The bartender is friendly, the place is lively, it's small plates as well as entrees so you can sample some things in courses, and it's not terribly expensive relative to the quality. If you aren't the gambling kind as I am, I would buy a ticket to a show. It's a plus being solo for show tickets booked toward the last minute I've found because there are often stray single seats in great sections. I enjoyed Love, Ka, Mystere, O, and Le Reve. All cirque or cirque type shows, but all pretty different.

I'm headed to Vegas solo for 5 days!! So far I have planned Zarkana and the day spa at Aria. I usually go with the hubby but our schedules dont match this time so solo it is. I am soooooo looking forward to doing whatever whenever however. I'm thinking of hitting up some happy hours or eating at the bar! I've read that solo website but it doesnt seem to be up to date considering I'm staying at the D and they are still calling it Fitzgerald's!!! It has some nice pointers but all and all it needs a good update!

I'm staying mid strip and am up for any kind of meal, so long as it isn't from a chain...something that has some originality to it

I've been with family and friends and I have been alone.

You will soon know the unique pleasures of being alone as you can wander the casinos you want to....

You can pick a show to see that your friends might not like

You can stop where you want to drink and eat (sometimes I find it easiest to pick a buffet....but anything works).

And of course gambling (dependent on budget) can make the time fly and with luck more dollars fly in, without luck the dollars just fly away. (Note - not sure what you mean by lady of a certain age - only do this one if you are 21 and above).

I would not be worried about being solo in Las Vegas

There are so many convention goers there you will not be the only one.

You can eat in a restaurant anytime; that's not special. Go to a show, there's a lot of good ones there.

If you like salmon, we had THE best salmon meal ever, anywhere, last weekend at Olives restaurant in Bellagio. I think they call it Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon or Blackened Atlantic Salmon, something like that. Wow, simply the best. And, you might be able to sit at a table on the patio outside where you can watch the Bellagio Fountains (with time for a show afterwards?). Enjoy yourself!!!
