Tower room definitely.

This is the response I got from them a couple of months ago:

"Our West Tower Rooms on the 17th-22nd floors have in-room wireless internet access. All other rooms have a wired ethernet connection. We also offer wireless access in all our public areas (pool, lobby, food court, casino, etc…).

The resort fee includes:

The aforementioned internet access

Access to the fitness center

Use of the room phone for local and U.S. long distance calls

A daily newspaper available at our Essentials store

A $20 food and beverage credit redeemable at select locations at Luxor and Excalibur.

Our Tower rooms have been more recently renovated than the Pyramid rooms

Check-out time is 11am. We offer a courtesy late check-out at noon. Anything between noon and 3pm would incur a late check-out fee. Any checkout later than 3pm would be a full day’s rate."

That's pretty much it; Luxor is a good choice, of course not as luxurious as Bellagio but it is clean and nice. On top of that Mandalay Bay is connected through the Mandalay Bay Shoppes, you don't even have to go out. Excalibur is connected by a walkway and of course there's the tram that runs between those three. Across the street from Excalibur you have MGM and on the other side New York New York.

The Tower rooms are a little further away from the casino but are much nicer.

Most, if not all of the Pyramid rooms have been renovated in the past few years, so they aren't too bad. Much closer to the casino, if that is important to you.

Expedia said the Pyramid rooms have a shower but no tub so I will be looking to see if I can get a Tower room. I had just jumped at the cheap rate!

I've stayed in both and would choose the Pyramid every time. The tower rooms are definitely slightly nicer but unless I was looking to stay in the room a lot then for me the upside of the Pyramid would swing it for me. I love how close to the action the rooms are - you open your door and you're overlooking the casino. The tower rooms are bog standard rooms which could be in any hotel in the World. There's nowhere else like the Pyramid rooms.

Assuming that the 1991 in the OP's username is his year of birth I'd strongly recommend the Pyramid room.

Short answer: Tower rooms are nicer. But the whole fun of staying at the Luxor is sleeping in the pryamid. Gotta stay there at least the first trip.

After staying in the Bellagio you are going to be disappointed with the Luxor for both location and overall feel of the hotel (JMO).

Italianprincess, how are you so sure? Do you know him? What might be true for you doesn't necessarily mean it is true for others. It's a common mistake we all make but should try to avoid it. You can say that you yourself would or was disappointed going from Bellagio to Luxor because of those reasons but you can't assume everybody thinks the same way. While some people like luxury some people don't really care and only want their room to sleep and shower. Some people are fine with staying at Riviera, The Quad and Circus Circus; otherwise those places would have disappeared already and if everyone liked the same there would be a bunch of Bellagios all over the strip.
