How do you tip?

In the UK when we tip its usually in a restaurant and when the bill is left on the table the tip if left too. Is it the same in America? What about taxi drivers, people who carry your bags etc? Do you just hand it to them like giving pocket money?

"when the bill is left on the table the tip if left too. Is it the same in America?" - Yes although you can also add it to the bill if paying by credit card.

"What about taxi drivers, people who carry your bags etc? Do you just hand it to them like giving pocket money?" - Yes, they will be waiting for you to handover the tip.

You leave a tip along with your bill at a restaurant. At the bars, you simply leave your tip on the bar and push it forward so the bartender knows to take it. You hand the cab driver your fare plus tip. If you plan to tip the person who hails you a cab or carries your luggage, you hand them the tip after the service is provided. If you plan to tip housekeeping, you leave the tip in your room...with a note, if you want.

I hope this tipping doesnt spoil the holiday as we arent used to tipping and we dont want abuse or to upset someone if we accidentally forget. How much would you normaly tip someone? Is everyone tipped the same amount? Like a bartender, if I tipped him $1 would he think im giving to some begger? Should it be more? Sorry im new to giving everyone some money haha

This should give you a good summary of the US tipping norms.

Do what you would do back home in the restaurant either leave cash on table or add it on the credit card.

The others just tip them with cash in hand. Go to a casino changer or cage and change some $1 bill for tipping.

Bring a lot of dollar bills and just give a few to every single person you come across.. all of them. You can't go wrong then.

Yes

To keep it simple, yes.

To easily calculate 20% (the standard for good food/drink service) just tip 1 dollar for each 5 dollars of valye.

$1 for the bartender may be a bit low. I'd go $3 per order. Don't forget to tip the cocktail waitresses on the casino floor also. I usually give them $2 per "free" drink.
