Bally's of Monte Carlo?

I was previously trying to decide between Mirage and Monte Carlo. Eveveryone said Mirage. Went to book the next morning and rates had jumped 2 nights up $50 and the other 2 almost $100. Can' t go that route, so now back to square one. Bally's has a really good rate better than Monte Carlo but don't know much about pool at Bally's. Help! Need opinions on both the hotels. Thanks!

I've stayed at both. Much prefer the Monte Carlo. It has a nice feel about it. I stayed at Bally's in the winter so no use for the pool, but I've heard it isn't great. MC pool area, however we really enjoyed, has a lazy river and wave pool also.

The location of Bally's is great, but we have found that we love the location of MC as well, as we love that end of the strip. We do always walk to Bellagio, Flamingo etc and I personally don't think it's that long of a haul.

I was also booking at the Mirage when the prices jumped and now I am booked at the MC based on what i've read here. I have been in the casino and the brewery on past visits, but never stayed. im looking forward to it, although I doubt I will be able to use the pool as we will be there in November. good luck!

The pool at Ballys has a deep end, that is it's only feature.

The pool is more fun at Monte Carlo, but the location is a little better at Ballys. The pool is a LONG walk from the room at Ballys, but very short and convenient at MonteCarlo

The south strip near Monte Carlo does have a lot of cool places to see, (NYNY casino, very cool, etc)

and the walk to midstrip is not bad, especially when you tour all the places along the way

Good buffets nearby are Aladdin, and Mandalay Bay(take tram from front of Excalibur)

The Tropicana has a partially indoor pool. There is no other swimming in March, all pools are outdoor, and active May-Oct

The better bet is the Monte Carlo for sure. Maybe it's just us, but whenver we visit bally's, it just seems a bit "worn-out"- we love the MC- nice pool area, good restaurant choices, conveneient food court if you like them, and we like the location on the Strip.

Not been to MC or the pool there. Loved Ballys pool. Easy to find a chair, great music playing, drink servers readily available. Yes, a long walk, but good exercise. For me it would depend on the price of each. I also love Ballys location and rewards club.
