High on gambing

Does anyone else feel a "high" when they are gambling? Also when there's to long of a break between roulett spins or dice throw do u get irritated because u are losing your high?

P.S I think I have a gambing problem.

The first step in your recovery ...

Yes of course I think most people who do more than drop a dollar in the Big Bertha Slot on their way to the buffet get some level of rush from gambling. Yes it is an addiction. I enjoy gambling, I get excited thinking about it, sometimes a euphoria remembering the wins, and I could do it for hours if the money would hold out, and if I didn't make myself get up and do something else periodically. Fortunately for me, I don't live in Vegas and gambling in other cities doesn't tempt me much. The few times I have tried casinos in other places, I've found it depressing and boring, while in Vegas I find it fun. So that keeps my gambling to a manageable level a few visits a year for a few days at a time.

Many years ago when I felt I was having issues with knowing my limits, I took a complete break from gambling for a while. I did some reading and research to decide whether or not I had a serious problem. I came to the conclusion that I didn't and my play since then backs that up. I just look at that time as a crazy aberration and am happy that ever since, I only play within my means.

One of the things I did read about was how the brain reacts very differently for problem gamblers when in action to how it does for those just looking for a little fun. I just googled and found this.

I know the "high" you are talking about. I get it more so playing slots than tables. I could play for hours on end. My family thinks I have a problem, but I don't see anything wrong with it when it is once or twice a year that I get to go to vegas. However, the first stage to any addiction is denial.
