Flamingo GO ROOM or THE King Suite at Mandalay Bay

It may sound stupid, but I am debating a Flamingo GO ROOM vs Mandalay Bay King Suite. I am going for 3 nights July 15-18. With current promos I can get the room at MB for about $430 with taxes and resort fees. The Flamingo would be about $315. Is the Mandalay Bay King Suite worth the extra $115? The only downside of MB is the location from all the action, but it seems like the better choice. Thoughts?

If I was solo or on a guys' trip, Flamingo would be fine and we'd spend the money saved on other things. If it was a trip with my wife, we'd choose MB in a heartbeat and consider the extra cost for the nicer hotel money well spent.

Location of MB isn't an issue for me.

The trip is with my GF and I also forgot to mention it comes with a $100 pool credit. $50 off a cabana rental and $50 for pool beverages/food.

It depends on where you plan to spend the majority if your time. If you want to meander, Mandalay's location will have you bored in no time because you can only head North. At least with the Flamingo you can head both north and south.

Flamingo will have a lot more budget travelers, and generally a younger crowd. Mandalay Bay will be a bit more 'refined' and some might say pretentious. I heard they have a topless beach at Mandalay. I'd book there just to see what its like.

THEHotel, while being or at least appearing to be miles from center Strip, is also miles ahead of Flamingo.

The room is a suite with 2 bathrooms, a living room, and a nice sized bedroom. Basically you have as much sq/ft as a normal 1 bedroom apt. The property despite construction looks nicer with better, food, better casino, and a better pool. You can easily use the free trams/monorail to get up Strip, and worst case just take a walk.

BTW they are letting people stay in the new Delano rooms. I think they are on the 37th floor at least, although are probably open on other floors too.

I am leaning towards MB since I have stayed at Flamingo before. Just hope the atmosphere isn't lacking.

I think you understand the basics perfectly. MB is a nicer hotel, the room is nicer, but the location is farther away. Certainly worth the extra $$, as long as you don't mind the location.

Also what about the MGM Tower Spa Suite?

flamingo go room is fine the flamingo location great. but the hotel itself does not have that much to offer for your girlfriend. the mb would be more for a girlfriend boyfriend.
