Vegas End Of October

Not been to Vegas for 7 years things were still pretty cheap then infact I had £500 spends for 5 night and came home with £100 what's the typical cost of things now? We like a few drinks not big gamblers but like to play and are happy with buffet meals and maybe a couple of shows how much money do people recommend to take for 7 nights

We would bring about 30% more money the end of October than we would the beginning of October. The beginning of the month is perfect pool weather, so we would be spending a lot of time outside. The end of the month will not provide pool weather every day. So there is more indoor time. In Las Vegas we spend a lot more money indoors than outdoors.

So take that into account when deciding on dates and budget.

Prices have gone up a lot since you have been there. I just got back and was shocked at some of the prices on the strip. For example we got two cups of frozen yogurt at a place in the Mirage and the bill was $16.50. The price stated that it was 69 cents an ounce. There is no way that we had over a lb of frozen yogurt. I was shocked at the price.

All of the hotels charge a resort fee, so $15 to $25 dollars a day is added to your hotel bill. Some restaurants that have entertainment add a huge tax to your bill. Drinks at the bars and pools are very expensive. The cost of food has really gone up to. And it will cost you a lot more to play slots too. Your money will go fast with few wins unless you get very lucky.

There are still bargains to be found if you plan ahead. Look into groupons and discount coupons and specials on food or consider going downtown or off strip for cheaper dining options. There are good happy hour specials and pre-fix menus also. Check out the tickets for tonite booth, goldstar and travelzoo for discount show tickets. Join smartervegas, com for some good hotel discounts.

You could also play MyVegas and join CET Social Rewards for more discounts or free rewards. Look into some of the free shuttles or buy a bus pass to save on transportation costs. With some planning you can have a great time even on a budget but it is not the same as it was 7 years ago.
