Best strip hotels for 28 people and 14 rooms

I am making 50th bday party plans for my wife for July 17-19, 2015. I am thinking about 28 people and booking 14 rooms. 13 rooms will be 2 beds (dbl or qn) is fine. Honeymoon suite for my wife and I. Would like them to be on the strip but not terribly expensive. But not skanky either. No guests will be under 21. A small lunch celebration off the hotel site and renew our vows at a nearby chapel. It's only 2 days so I don't want to take up everyone's time. Maybe half a day for party celebrations and then everyone can go enjoy themselves. I got a quote from The Monte Carlo for around 4000.00. That includes a reception room for 2 hrs. No food or drink included. I figure I can knock the price down if we eat at a nearby restaurant. Any hotel suggestions? Or any other ideas from anyone who has done this on a large scale would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I would recommend calling the properties and asking. You're going to get the best information that way.

First some questions:

1. Do you have a particular hotel you would prefer?

2. Would you be using the hotel's chapel?

3. Are you flexible regarding dates?

Realistically, I suspect the best all inclusive deals will be from properties such as Stratosphere or Tropicana, for example, or an off Strip property

I suggest you contact the functions coordinator at a couple of properties which appeal to you, and ask for a quotation

Happy birthday!

I would decide on the hotel and not worry about the lunch or reception, etc. While 14 rooms may seem like a lot and worthy of a group discount, it really is nothing for the hotels.

I have been part of trips this size and what worked best was to get rates from a few hotels and let your guests decide where they want to stay. That's assuming you are not paying for their rooms. With that many people you will have some who want something different. Since it is their trip too, let them decide. You could tell them where you are staying and give them the choice.

For the party, there are so many restaurants to choose from that would be able to accommodate your group.

Not sure why you need a reception room for $4000 if there is no food or drink and you are planning on eating lunch somewhere else. Did I miss something?

Some clarifications please:

Are you looking to book and pay for all 14 rooms by yourself? Or do you plan on having each family member or friend pay for their own room as they check in? If it is the former, you can call the group sales department in each hotel. They normally handle blocks of 10 or more rooms if you are paying for all of them.

Is the $4,000 is just the rental on the room? And that includes no food or drink? If that is the case, I'm sure you can do MUCH better. Perhaps post a new question asking for restaurant suggestions for a group of 28. I'm sure there are places with private rooms will suit you well.

Your dates include a Friday which will increase the room rate significantly. But you might start checking rates at places like MGM, Bally's, Harrah's, Treasure Island, Monte Carlo. They would all be considered mid-range properties.

Damama, actually I am paying for the rooms and also 4 or 5 flights. My wife and I have never been to Vegas so I don't really know the layout and such. Her birthday is June 8th but I am waiting until July when my younger daughter turns 21. This way everyone can get on the casino floor. I don't want to go much past July 17. My idea is for my wife and I to arrive on Thursday the 16th and spend the day together. On Friday our guests will arrive and then I wanted to find a chapel somewhere close and renew our wedding vows. It will be 22 years. I thought that our guests could surprise my wife at the chapel. Afterwards we could have a party luncheon. Again maybe somewhere close to the hotel. Initially I got a quote from Monte Carlo and was thinking I would use a reception room for the party but someone suggested it would be much cheaper to find a BBQ joint or restaurant and eat there. The 4000.00 quote was for the rooms and 2 hrs in a reception room. But then I would need food and drinks from the hotel. Or have it catered. I don't have a ton of money but don't want our guests staying somewhere nasty either. It seems like I can get decent rooms for 100-130 a night. Don't know anything about the strip and what would be the best location. Off the strip seems far from everything and I don't want anyone to have to rent cars to get around. It's mainly family and some very close friends. We are from CT so guests will have to pay for flights. Thanks for your response.

What about this? Check out Treasure Island; they have a wedding chapel. Their rates are $78 for Thursday night, $145 for Friday + Resort Fees. After the wedding you can walk across the street to Fashion Show Mall and have a meal in a private room at Maggiano's.

It is a little early to get the best rates for a year from now but you can start looking. You can make and cancel most reservations if you book directly with the hotel.

MichaelonLI had a good suggestion. You might also want to check out smartervegas.com. We got a great rate for late July this year. If you want to stay under $100 per room per night, you might want to look at MGM, Mirage and even Monte Carlo without the reception room.

Let us know your price per room and we can give you a better idea.

I would ditch "deal" that Monte Carlo gave you. I think you can do better.

With that $4000. quote, what is the suite that you'd get for you and your wife?
