1. Re: Mosquitos???????

I've never seen a mosquito in Vegas. . . I would think the climate is too dry for them.

But I'm sure a local TA member can give you a definitive answer.

Do pack (or buy locally) lip balm and eye drops - very dry out there.

Mosquito's require hot humid air to survive. Vegas is hot and dry...not excatly the best weather for a mosquito.

I don't recall ever being bothered by wasps either, am sure they must be there but it's not like trying to eat out over here in the summer.

There are mosquitoes in Las Vegas and the surrounding area.

But they will not be an issue in tourist areas.

They need water (preferably stagnant) to breed in and there is very little of that on or around the strip, DT, etc. so don't worry about them in those areas

As well as water, mosquitos also need a significant amount of greenery.

So you don't need to pack any repellant.

I wonder what kind of bugs the Luxor bats eat? The lack of bugs is a real plus when choosing to visit Vegas compared to Florida or canadian lakes. I have never seen any bees or wasps or flies on the strip.
