Really need help on where to stay

After a family tragedy, my wife and I (mid-30's) are looking to get away from upstate NY. I am looking for suggestions on a relaxing, geared to adults type place to stay in Las Vegas. Neither one of us has never been there. We are looking to go for a week in mid-August. We would relax by the pool, walk and check out the strip, gamble a little, see some shows and try some restaurants. We would love a place with an adults-only pool. I've found some good deals on a suite at the Palms, but wonder if that's too far from the strip (maybe that's a good thing in our case though).. Also thought of maybe breaking it up by staying at the Red Rock resort a couple nights then somewhere closer to the strip. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I would suggest Bellagio or Aria. Both have ideal locations and are very nice hotels. I haven't tried the pool at Aria, but the Bellagio pool is very relaxing. Did you have a budget in mind?

Wynn, Caesars have adults only European pools.

A quieter option is Bellagio where for a fee you can use the Cypress pool which is supposedly very nice.

These hotels are pricier than the options that you have mentioned, but for what you are looking for, they'd work if you can swing the price or find a deal.

I would caution against Red Rock Resort in August if your goal is to avoid a lot of children at the pool. Summer in Vegas means kids, and Red Rock seems particularly popular with families due to its on site family attractions like bowling, movie theatre, Kidsquest club and food court. I can't speak for the Palms as I haven't stayed there, but it may be a similar problem.

I was thinking max of about $1000 total, including the $25 resort fee each day. I also found a decent rate at the Venetian. Thanks for the info and insight on Red Rock, I didn't think about that.

If you want to avoid kids in August, Venetian is not the way to go. They attract a lot of families due to the room design, all the dining options, and tourist attractions.

Aria would be a much better choice or possibly Caesars.

Caesars has an adults only pool and you might be able to swing it on that budget there. I just don't know if that pool is a DJ driven dayclub type party in August or a more relaxed vibe.

Perhaps check some of the discounter sites with deals like Smarter Vegas to see whether you can get into an Aria, Bellagio, Wynn level resort. I think your chances of the environment you're envisioning would be better at one of the higher end resorts. Caesars has a lot of different room categories and prices, so check that one out.

Mandarin Oriental. It is a non casino hotel and the pool, although far from spectacular, is calm and usually without any kids. It would also provide you with its very peaceful environment while being in the middle of the Strip near casinos.

The $1000 might be difficult to meet, though.

ceasars adult pool is very very adult!! there is a live dj and nudity and not everyone is good to look at sorry just saying. the aria has a lovely quiet pool we had six adults in our group and had a very long conversation with no interruptions.p.s. our conversation did not disturb anyone cuz we were in the far left corner.

Stay at Encore... the 21+ pool there is my favorite by far. Wonderful hotel, fantastic spa, easy walk to TI and Casino Royale for cheap gambling... easy walk to Ven/Palazzo..

You will love the Wynn/Encore property

And sorry to hear of your family tragedy.
