What's the state of Blackjack at Paris?

I know that CET properties are notorious for their 6/5 shennanigan's, but seeing that I can usually find a 3/2 table at $25 a hand I think I am going to stay there on my next trip.

Anyone have insights on the state of BJ at Paris? I have looked at the Wizard of Vegas survey but it can get outdated. Anecdotal evidence is worth more, IMO.

Specifically, I wonder:

1) Do they still have BJ Switch?

2) Do they have Free Bet BJ?

3) Any 3/2 tables at less than $25?

Any other?

Thanks!

We were there in March and found plenty of 3/2 tables and during the day they did have $15 tables. I will be there tonight and I will check if they have Switch, but I doubt they have Freebet

Yes Paris had a few 3:2 blackjack tables @ $10-15 minimum but I only noticed this mid week during slow times, but I can promise you come weekends and holidays they will raise the minimum to $25 a hand and maybe only keep a few 3:2 - $15 tables , most casinos early mornings and slow times lower minimums and than come later on in the evening they raise there table game minimums !

I have played on $10 3:2 tables at Paris in the past, but it has been a while since I have played there. I know for a fact they do not have Free Bet. PH will probably be the first CET property to have Free Bet, if they ever stop dragging their feet. I can never remember if Casino Royale is considered a CET property or not, but they have Free Bet and Switch tables exclusively, however the Free Bet tables are all 6:5.

If you are interested in playing Free Bet, it can be found at many other places: Mandalay Bay, NYNY, Mirage, Aria, Venetian, Palazzo, Golden Nugget, The D, Golden Gate, and Cosmo. All of the tables are 3:2, with the exception of the SD game at Golden Nugget, which is 6:5. MGM Grand is supposed to go live with Free Bet on August 1st.

I've played $10-$15 3:2 blackjack at Paris, but that's been over a year ago. It's a nice casino and it's fairly easy to get comped rooms there. I don't like some of their other blackjack rules, though. You can't double down after splitting on the $25 double-deck game. Shoes, outside of high limit are all EIGHT-deck (six in HL) and you can't re-split aces. That's why I often pass on Paris and stay at the much dumpier Luxor (the only MGM hotel that will consistently comp me three nights). The no DAS in double-deck is really annoying. On the bright side, they serve great Bloody Mary's and I've always been treated well at Paris. Enjoy!

Rhinoman - Do you always take the free bet when you play Freebet? I tried freebet last trip and it seemed like numerous times I would have been better off not taking the split or double once the cards were dealt. Does standard BS work with Freebet and I was just having bad luck? Tried three sessions and went down hard all three times.

handshuffle....BS for Free Bet differs a bit (you can see the charts at the wizardofodds website). The bottom line is that it is to your advantage to take ALL free bets. In many cases, this goes totally against regular BS (for example, you would NEVER split 9s against a dealer 10). Your results at Free Bet aren't much different than playing regular blackjack. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I have had very similar win streaks and also losing streaks both in regular blackjack and Free Bet. Don't let a few bad sessions discourage you from trying again. It really is a fun game! I have been playing Free Bet since August, 2012, and overall have had many more winning sessions than losing sessions. With that being said, my solo trip last month was one of those times were things just didn't seem to happen in my favor. I played 10 sessions of Free Bet overall, with 6 losing sessions, 3 break even sessions, and 1 winning session, with a total loss of $700. That just happens sometimes.

Thanks to everyone who has shared. The key players I thought that would chime in did just so. I like to hear other perspectives as well and would love to hear your review of it for tonight, g35girl.

The other wildcard is the all-important cocktail service while playing BJ there. Darren (noting that I will try a bloody mary while there) and others (I don't think you drink rhinoman), any thoughts on this?

What about the quality of booze?

Thanks, everyone!

Rhinoman - Thanks for the feedback and the encouragement. I intend to keep working on it. I find with FB I am really having to think about my game which keeps me from watching the overall game somewhat. I'll study up on the Wizards' strategy.

TheKrow - my favorite thing about the CW service at Paris is their uniforms!

I'm here at Paris right now (midnight Saturday) and surprisingly they have 3/2 $15 black jack. The only tables that are 6/5 are in the pleasure pit. I saw one switch and no free bet. Hope this helps!
