Downtown area in Sept

Arriving with my parents and grandparents in late Sept for 3 nights. Sounds fairly lame, but I am def looking forward to some q.t. with the fam. I am in my early thirties. Staying at the Fremont.

Looking to be prepared and not wandering/looking, as I have only stayed on the strip and don't have much time to spare this trip.

Looking for some advice about downtown. Best spa for pedicure? Best sports book? General place to hang out/have an adult beverage? Most entertaining black jack tables?

Kounts kustoms v. Ricks restorations v. Gold and silver pawn shop?

Clark county museum v. Mob museum v. Neon museum?

Any other advice is appreciated :) thanks

If you visit the mob museum which is worth visiting make sure you go to the downtown grand across the street for good blackjack / plenty of 3:2 blackjack starting at $5 minimum also pizza rock is right there so you can kill three birds with one stone

Golden nugget has hands down the best sportsbook and mermaids is a good place to drink and eat fried twinkles

Have fun

The pawn shop is small and it opens at 9:00 in the morning. There might be a long line at that time, so wait a bit if you go there. It is interesting to see all the stuff they have. It is a about a 4 block walk from Fremont St on Las Vegas Blvd toward the Strip. An easy walk. Magnolias across the street from the Fremont has good food at the Four Queens. Get a card first though, and they have good specials with the card. Have a good time. We will be there on the 14th of Sept. for a week.

Not lame at all wanting to spend quality time with the family. I am taking my folks in March to celebrate their 50th Anniversary and looking forward to it very much.

Triple 7 brewery in Main Street Station is another great place for some drinks and laid back atmosphere. Haven't been myself yet but I hear The D has a good view bar on the 2nd floor and also has a lot of the older slots if you or your folks are interested in that.

I wish all my trips were all downtown. I go with girlfriends now and they are all about the strip. Okay for spa - hands down Golden Nugget. Sportsbook? There or Binions. Drinks? Happy hour at Chart House Golden Nugget is awesome, El Cortez makes the best martinis ever and the Downtown Cocktail lounge has amazing different cocktails. Gambling? All casinos downtown have great low limit tables, the craps table at Golden Gate has to be seen, it's extra long! Food? I love Chart House, Flame at El Cortez, Magnolias for breakfast and lunch and Hugo's Cellar for a memorial dinner experience reminiscent of old Vegas.

I love that you are doing this with your parents. Good memories will be made! I took my folks when they were in their 80;s and they adored downtown. We went to the strip as well but they loved the old world style downtown. I concur with Magnolias for a great breakfast and a nice meal is one of my fav restaurants in Vegas period. Hugos Cellar at the 4 Queens. Check out their menu. Binions horseshoe has a great cafe ..burgers and such. Way old school. Have a ball !!!!

The Mob museum is really interesting and worth a visit. As for drinks I'd recommend Banger brewing (at the side of heart attack grill) for some really nice craft beers.
