sahara, stratosphere, or travellodge

Hi I am trying to book my hotel for march break. Confused, as I don't want to stay in something too cheap, looking for a clean and safe hotel.

Go to the main trip advisor review site. Here you will get as many opinions as responses.

All the hotels mentioned are on the extreme north end of the strip far from the center of the action..

Sahara is ok

Strat is ok

I have heard bad things about the travel lodge but there are 2 in las Vegas and one is worse than the other I don't know which one.

Goggle cheapo las vegas, they have a map sometimes listed on the left side of the page.

Click on each hotel, read what is said.

Click on the link to the hotel and go to their website.

Get on their e-mailing list for deals.

Caution spring break is very expensive as it comes at the same time as NCAA March Madness.

Consider a hotel downtown, there are many fine places there on Fremont Street. The Plaza comes to mind. Many hotels, casinos and bars all within stumbling I mean walking distance. of eachother

We will be there 3-21 to 27 and staying at the El Cortez but that may or may not be right for you.

Before you plan any more, be aware that if you are under 21 you will not be permitted to register at any of these hotels as far as I know. You may be of age but the March break comment makes me wonder...

Both Travel Lodges get bad reviews. I would avoid those.

It is a matter of tolerance but I have had no trouble in that area after dark.

My pick is always the Sahara. It's clean, cheap, great gaming and shows. The main reason I choose the Sahara is I like to split my time between downtown and the strip. The Sahara is a terrific location for this. It is about midway between the MGM and downtown. You can catch the duece at the bus stop just north of the casino and be downtown in about 20 min. or catch the monorail at the station located behind the casino and be at the MGM in about 15 min. This is my opinion. My advise to you is to make up your own mind about where to stay, what to do, and where to go. It's your trip and if you make a mistake yourself, at least you won't be saying "If I hadn't listened to the TA forum"

My pick would also be the Sahara. Was there in September and was pleasantly surprised. Clean, non smoking room. Good tables and on the monorail line. Have a great time.

we stayed in the sahara on our last trip. the room was clean and comfortable. we like to gamble there. we are both way out of shape, but we managed to walk to the wynn without too much trouble. we took teh monorail to get to mid/south strip.

i was a little nervous walking back to the hotel from dinner at the steakhouse at circus circus after dark. there were some other normal looking people walking also, but there were some shady characters handing around. the cab would have only been about $7 with tip. i would certainly stay there again, but use cabs or the monorail after dark.

We to would recommend the Sahara. We stayed there in October and had no complaints. Got a great upgrade, room was clean and kept clean over the period we were there, staff all friendly. No real worries about the area after dark either though we were always together and never ventured out alone.
