Is the Riverside clean and updated?

I'm taking my mom to see Debbie Reynolds in November and have also booked rooms. She is very particular. Are the rooms

fresh and clean? Do they have a non-smoking gambling area?

Thanks for your insight.

Some parts of the north tower were being updated this spring. The south tower has a non smoking area in the casino..and cheap margaritas.

I can’t speak for the rooms at the Riverside but the Casino I have always found to be clean although confusing. Unless she is a neat freak I doubt it would be a problem. If so you might want to look at the Golden Nugget. As to if it is cleaner or just perceived cleaner that is a judgment call.

My North Tower room in June was kinda old and dingy. Not gross, just not up to the standards of some of the other places.

Riverside casino feels very dirty and smoky to me.

Golden Nugget soulds like a much better hotel for you.

Small and very clean and fresh smelling pretty much everywhere.

The Riverside is showing its age and could definitely use a remodel. With that said, the staff do a good job working with what they have. I've stayed there several times and while the rooms are a little worn and definitely not fancy, they've always been clean in my experience. The one exception was a friend of ours who had a room in the south tower, high floor (where the doors to the little demi-balconies don't open). The outside of the window could have used a good cleaning. We usually stay rooms with "real" baclonies (i.e., north tower), and they seem to do a good job cleaning the glass in those rooms where it's obviously a lot easier to get to it.

The casino itself is definitely dated, more of a dark "old school' Vegas feel than that of the more open, modern casino floor plans. The lack of brighter lighting may lend itself to a more "dingy" appearance, but again, the staff seem to do a good job keeping it tidy (i.e., picking up drink glasses and the like). The smoking area can get quite smoky in the evenings. I'm sure they could use a better air filtration system. The non-smoking area, however, is very large.

On one had, yes, I'd like to see the Riverside catch up with its 21st century counterparts, but on the other hand I don't want to see the prices of their air/hotel packages shoot up to pay for it. I also like that it's kind of a time warp. Would be kind of sad to see it look like every other casino.

I don't think I have ever heard - fresh, clean and the Riverside used in the same sentence. " She is very particular" If she is truely very particular, prepare to hear complaints. Tell her not to expect a fancy place, or maybe see the Debbie Reynolds show someplace else.

The rooms at the Riverside are just fine if you are not real particular. If you are looking for something to complain about, you can find it.

Tropicana would be another good choice for hotel as rooms are separate from the casino area.

Clean? NO.

Updated? NO..

Riverside is one of the smokiest, dirty, filthy casinos in Laughlin.

Go to Trop or Golden Nugget if you want a nice hotel room.
