Which hotel would you pick?

We'll be arriving from San Diego at about 7pm, will have dinner, and be on our way the next morning around 6am for the grand canyon. Would like a centrally located casino with low limit craps :) Will also have 3 kids under 21, so close to the movie theater would be ideal. These are the ones that I've got it narrowed down to...

Edgewater = $55 2 queens

River palms = $60night 2 doubles

Hurrahs = $80/night 2 doubles

Tropicana express $70/night 2 queens

Hi not sure about the craps, but Edgewater and Tropicana are the nearest walks to the cinema. There is a mulitplex is in the Shopping Mall just opposite Edgewater and it's only a few minutes walk from the Tropicana. Or Riverside also has a cinema but a little bit more of a walk.

As you are only staying one night Harrahs is a little bit of a trek from the main drag of Casinos.

Those prices sound a little high, what day are you arriving?

You didn't mention Riverside as an option, the casino is dated (but most Laughlin casinos are) but it's not a bad choice for what you're looking for.

They've got a 6 screen movie venue, a car museum (that's free), a bowling center, it's right on the water and a pretty fun place to spend the day. Another option would be Aquarius, more modern than most of the Laughlin Casinos and also right on the water, the Outlet Mall w/ movie cinemas is across the street, they have an Outback Steakhouse and a big food court w/ BurgerKing, Dairy Queen, etc. I think ColoradoBelle would also be in the running, better than Edgewater IMO, and busier and less isolated than RiverPalms. Harrahs is nice but isolated from the rest of the Laughlin strip.

Tropicana is good too, but it's not on the river and that's a big draw for the kids.

Arriving on Labor Day weekend friday, won't be in laughlin long so riverside doesn't really matter.

Here was my research:

Riverside = $80, no choice of bed

Aquarius = kings only $90 night

Edgewater = $55 2 queens

Colorado belle = $55, no bed choice

Pioneer = no thx

Golden nugget no availability

River palms = $60night 2 doubles

Hurrahs = $80/night 2 doubles

Tropicana express $70/night 2 queens

Which I narrowed down to the ones that I actually posted.

Edgewater is cheapest, has 2 queens, on the waters edge and is right across the street from the outlets. Any reason not to go there? :)

Looks like you picked a tough weekend for deals & room selection. I've never stayed at Edgewater but the location is convenient and I'm sure the rooms are adequate for a short trip. I agree about Pioneer, this was the first place we stayed in Laughlin and the rooms make Motel6 seem upscale, lol.

You might just check about a week prior to your trip and maybe some late cancellations will give you a few more options (if you make your Edgewater Reservations through the Hotel so you can cancel w/out a penalty that is).

Golden nugget had no rooms for this week available on their website, but I got one on hotels.com. Try a few sources to see what is really out there. I also called them directly and they had rooms but at a slightly elevated price.

If there is no availability at the Nugget, I would go for the Trop.
