My two sons (both 14) and I just got back from a week at the Riverside and had a wonderful time. For those of you who don't know what to do or say there is nothing to do in Laughlin other than gamble, then I ask you to do a little research and see what's out there.
We always stay at the Riverside because for young kids, there is stuff to do. We bowled a couple of times, played pool, saw a movie, went to the arcade, saw both classic car museums, went on the USS Riverside boat tour, went swimming (cold!!!) - all at the Riverside. On our first night we went to the Avi and fired off a bunch of fireworks - lots of fun and it was great to see others firing off theirs too. We drove to Christmas Tree Pass and saw the Petroglyphs and did some rock climbing. We fished at Katherine's Landing (no luck) and some surrounding coves (also no luck!) Went to Oatman - had a donkey stick his head into our car, saw the gun fight and went to the Oatman Hotel and hung a dollar bill on the wall - if you don't know what I'm talking about - do some research :). One thing I wanted to do with them was to walk within the labyrinths. I'm not really sure how much they 'got' the labyrinths, but they were impressed on how intricate they were. Another thing I wanted to do with them is to walk along the Laughlin Heritage Greenway Trail. I enjoyed walking along the river and they enjoyed skipping rocks! One of my boys developed an ear infection so we went to an urgent care facility in Bullhead City and it looked at. As far as food goes - I can give you no useful information. Went to In N Out, McDs, Ihop, and the bowling alley snack bar at the Riverside - Love the burgers and nachos! Our room at the Riverside was very good. No problems and maid service was prompt. I'll go into greater detail when I review my room at the trip advisor hotel site. As has been my experience, my interactions with the casino staff, locals, and tourists was great! Viva Laughlin!
