Eldorado vs. Silver Legacy

Is there much difference between the Eldorado and Silver Legacy hotels? Are they connected? Which one has quicker in/out access?

They are connected. It's the Eldorado, Silver Legacy in the middle and Circus, Circus.

The rooms are smaller at Silver Legacy. At the Eldorado, the elevators to your room are accessible from the casino floor, but with the Silver Legacy they aren't.

The two hotels are connected on the second floor.

Definetely choose the Eldorado over Silver Legacy. The rooms at the Eldorado are much nicer.

We've stayed at El Dorado in the west tower several times over the years and always are very happy. The rooms also have easy to use electronic safes at El Dorado, and if you use the self parking it is very easy access to the check-in area if you park near elevators in the multi-story parking garage. Just be sure you keep and validate the self-park tag upon checkout so you won't be charged for any parking.

Also yes they are connected and to get to the Silver Legacy casino and restaurants from El Dorado's side is very easy. I'd recommednd the El Dorado for sure. Their security is also very good, and a room key must be shown before getting on the elevator to the rooms 24/7. I cannot give a comparison because we've only gambled at Silver Legacy, and have not seen their rooms, but again we've stayed at El Dorado probably 6 times in the last five years and have always been very happy there.

Been to El Dorado about 15 times in the past 20 years and cannot ever recall having a complaint except once the battery to the safe was dead, however from the time we called the desk to the time the replacement job was COMPLETED was less than 15 minutes!

I agree, the Eldorado rooms are nicer, larger, and very easy to get to and from in regards to the casino. I do believe its older, but they keep it up very well.

The Legacy rooms have one nice difference, however, in that the toilet/shower area of the bathroom has a door that seperates it from the sick/vanity area. When us girlfriends travel togehter, it makes getting ready much faster.

Its a bit of a walk from the Legacy room elevators to the restaurants and casino floor. If you want to go to Circus Circus from SL, its faster to go outside the doors by the bell desk (shuttle area) and in the side door of Circus. A nice shortcut, especially if its crowded.

Another note, Eldorado has coffee makers in the rooms and the Legacy does not. Of course, you can order room service ($$) or they have a convenient espresso place near the elevators and lobby ($$).

Even though I enjoy both hotels, we are staying at the Legacy 3/15-18. We got a free room and the limo is picking us up from the airport. I will post a trip report when I return.

I actually prefer Silver Legacy over El Dorado. I like that there is a little walk to the casino. I also like there lounge better. You can't really go wrong though. Go with the one cheaper.
