Very sorry. I posted this in the Ashland forum! Here's my original question:
Hello, I just returned from a few days in Jackson, NH. My family and I went, hoping to cross country ski . Unfortunately, there was almost no snow there and the trails weren't very ski-able. We went to Bretton Woods and the conditions were great. My question is this: is Jackson, in general, less predictable/reliable in terms of snow for cross country skiing or were these unusual circumstances? (I know there was a big snowstorm there two days before we went, but I was told the snow blew away.) I'm wondering if I should plan on Jackson next year or look for someplace more likely to have snow (a higher altitude).
