Montreal Inn vs. Sea Crest Motor Inn

We are a couple in our 60's looking for a great ocean view, very nice room/suite with a large balcony and as few children (no offense) as possible, close to the Point. Do either of these fill the bill? Thanks!!!

We have stayed at the Montreal Inn, never stayed at Sea Crest.

We liked the Montreal Inn, although I would not consider it high-end.The balconys are not large. Obviously for the best ocean views, you would want the highest floor possible.

As to kids, you don't say when you are coming. Obviously during the week when school is in session would be your best bet.

Cape May is not as crowded with kids as Ocean City or Wildwood, but it is a kid friendly town, so certainly expect familys with kids to be staying at either location

Most Band B's are less conducive to family stays, so you might consider that as an option. There are a couple on Beach Drive with Ocean Views

I am confused by your reference to the Point.

If you mean Cape May Point, then any hotel in Cape May will be at least a couple miles from Cape May Point .You could walk the beach to get there or bike (we bike to the Point every trip). The Sea Crest is closer, because it is in the Western Part of Cape May City.

There are no hotels in Cape May Point Borough.

PS Trip advisor shows one Band B in Cape May Point, Dolphin Watch.

This Band B is actually in North Cape May on the Bay. It is not walkable or easily bikeable to the Point (the canal is in between) without a long detour.

Sea Crest definitely caters to adults, and children are restricted to certain floors.

The Sandpiper is pretty roomy with good sized balcony.

sandpiper looks nice but 500 a night! I could rent a villa on Turks & Caicos for less :)

We have stayed at Montreal Inn...It is very child friendly so the pool is usually full of children on the weekends. If you aren't planning to use the pool and want the convenience of the beach/bar/restaurant the Montreal Inn offers, ask for a room on a higher floor.

thanks everyone! we are leaning toward the Sea Crest because we can get a renovated, oceanfront suite on a floor that is adults only. Reviews seem good. Any other comments/suggestions are welcome. We still have a few days to send in our deposit.

Go with the Sea Crest - it is definately more adult oriented. We have stayed at the Sea Crest and the Sandpiper both in season and although the Sandpiper is a little more roomy and upscale the kids overran the pool. We loved both places but for a nicer adults only feel go for the Sea Crest.
