Il be staying in hotel next to jersey gardens mall Elizabeth

Will local restraints and transport be up and running into NYC or will everything shut down over thanksgiving in from uk

NJ Transit will run on a holiday schedule on Thanksgiving Day (more akin to weekend frequency rather than workday). Some restaurants may close that day but there are always some places open to eat.

Ok thanks was just worried we would be stuck in hotel with nowhere open the hotel doesn't have a restraunt . The mall is next door and I hop not far

There is a Ruby Tuesday and a Ihop in that complex you can walk to from any of the hotels across from the mall.

What days do the malls close and restraunts movie theatre close over thanksgiving and when does every thing return to normal schedule as I'm from uk and don't know a thing about it . Will be visiting Elizabeth New Jersey during thanks giving

The mall most likely will be closed. The mall will be open that night and some stores will be open all night as it is black Friday; Here the web site which will have the info

What Hotel have ye booked? We came back today. Stayed in Courtyard Marriott hotel across the Road from Jersey Gardens. We had a great stay. Food was good at Ruby Tuesdays. We got the bus from the Mall into New York two of the day's. Got the train another day.
