Laguardia to Newport

What is the best and most economical way to travel from Laguardia airport to Newport area in Jersey City. Last time we took a cab it was about 90$ including the toll...is there a better way?

Thanks

Take the Airport Express to Penn Station in Manhattan http://www.nyairportservice.com/ for $12/person then take the subway to 33rd st ($2.50/person -- just ask for directions, you can take many different trains to 33rd) ) then take the PATH to Newport www.panynj.gov/path/maps-schedules.html ($2.00/person). How you get to your final destination from the Newport PATH is another question

The best way is a cab, the above is nearly the cheapest. Cheapest would be to take the bus:

"From LGA, the least expensive way to Manhattan is via the M60 bus, or the Q33 or Q48 buses. Basic fare is $2.25 per person. You will need to use coins or buy a MetroCard in advance of getting on the bus, because city buses do not accept bills. See this MTA webpage for bus and subway details for JFK and LGA. "

Isn't Penn Station around the corner from the Path at 33rd? I thought Penn Station was located at 33rd and 7th?

Thanks
