You can get a train from either New Brunswick or Jersey Avenue. Not a light rail, though.

Keep in mind that the last jersey Ave train is at 9 am and there is really no parking by the train in New Brunswick and Jersey Ave requires a permit. Also there are a few theaters in New Brunswick that have decent productions. Here are a few links.

Hi. The parking deck across from the train station in New Brunswick has recently closed but there is a parking deck on Church St. It will take you about 5-10 minutes to walk to the train station from there.

Do not go from Jersey Ave. The trains do not run consistently, and if you arrive at night it is in a industrial park area. Bette off in new Brunswick. All most trains stop there and there is parking close by. You could also try driving up to metuchen and use daily parking.
