married, no kids... where to stay for our anniversary?

My husband is from NJ and I lived there for a bit back in our dating years and we used to do OC for day trips, but have never stayed there. We are considering a 3 night or so stay to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary in mid-July, but since we have only been day trippers in the past, I don't know where to begin! I've looked at a bunch of B&Bs and hotels on tripadvisor and got quickly overwhelmed and just thought I'd go ahead and ask the experts on this board! We are both in our early 30s, and can easily walk wherever, but would like a decently close location to everything, esp. the beach. Thanks! :)

I'm not sure if this is relevant to you, but in case you don't remember from your previous day trips - Ocean City is a dry town. They do not sell or serve alcohol anywhere and you cannot even BYOB. There are many places you can go in nearby towns if you want to drink, but you will not able to bring it anywhere in OC (unless you are renting your own place).

Have fun, LuvBreezes

If you definitely want to stay in OC, the Atlantis B&B is the nicest "non kid-friendly" spot & walking distance to the beach. But if your looking for grown up ammenities and activities you may want to stay at one of the casinos in AC and day trip here. We are Americas Greatest FAMILY Resort

Biscayne Suites would be great for a romantic weekend- check out their website at www.biscaynesuites.com. In Ocean City, it is illegal to drink in public but you can have champagne or whatever in private. You may want to consider taking a day trip to Cape May - the restaurants are amazing! There are wineries, breweries, and live theater. www.capemaycountychamber.com

I too have fond memories of Ocean City but I think you really might have more 'adult' fun if you go to Cape May instead. For OCNJ try to get an ocean front room at Port O Call. There could be kids in the hotel of course but it is one of the best hotels in OCNJ and it matches your wish list. Congrats on your anniversary. BTW, you are going in high season so you'll have nice weather and high season rates but they might be a bit discounted if you arrive on Monday or Sunday. It's worth asking if your schedule is flexible. Have fun.

You may want to consider Cape May. It's a lot nicer and more upscale and adult friendly.

Definitely the Atlantis Inn. That is BY FAR the nices B&B in Ocean City. Stop at Circle Liquor on your way in. The Atlantis Inn has a wonderful rooftop deck and every room is beautiful. Pricy but worth every penny. Cape May has beautiful B&B's, too.
