We're considering a day trip to NYC. A friend suggested driving to Hoboken then taking the train in. Any other suggestions?
IMO parking in Hoboken is just as bad if not worse than parking in Manhattan. Depending on how many of you there are it might be cheaper to drive and park in Manhattan.Edited: 18 July 2014, 04:13
Agree with AERULES, best is to drive into Manhattan and park. Then take subway to get around. Most of Manhattan's streets are a grid and therefore easy to navigate.
Not sure I agree with driving all the way into manhatten. you can take a train in from the shore line (NJTRANST) or from seacacus junction or even a ferry from atlantic highlands. parking is also quit easy at liberty state park
I would drive up the GSP to exit 131 to the Iselin Metropark. Parking is very reasonable and you can hop a train to NYC. The train takes you to Penn Station, right underneath Madison Square Garden.
