Winelands Flood

We're in the final stages of planning part of our honeymoon in Cape Town Dec 22-28 and had planned to spend 2 nights in Franschhoek. We got word this morning that there has been extensive flood damage to our hotel and they'll need to relocate us.

Does anyone know if the restaurants, shops and vineyards in the area have also been impacted by the floods? I'm trying to decide if we should change our plans for Franschhoek and go somewhere else for 2-3 days. If so, where?

I have been to Franschoek today and everything in the town is normal. The restaurants, shops and vineyards is all in good order. Some parts of the town has been damaged but on the outside part of the town and then off course also the mountain pass has been damaged with no drive through. But you can get from the City into Franschoek and back out again. Your booked hotel will relocated you to a secure area and do not let this slight change off plans make you make any changes, because everything in Franschoek is all still good. Enjoy and have loads of fun.
