anyone else been scammed by money changers kunti st?

Do not use the money changers across the road from Warung Italia in Kunti St in Seminyak. They scammed us of $50 when changing $100 note. Classic 2 men doing exchange, counting money into 2 piles...using small notes...distracting us with selling cheap singlets. Left very sour taste in our mouth. Nothing to do with Warung Italia but the money changers are directly across the road from this great restaurant. If the restaurant know these 2 shady characters they should ask them to move on. Please use official changers only...the ones that give you a receipt and the ones that have a clear sign saying "don't leave the counter until you are fully satisfied that you have the correct money'.

For anyone requiring an honest moneychanger on Jl Kunti, there is a glass box just around the bend from Bali Deli, heading towards Sunset Road - never had any problems with them at all.

I bet it was the one down the lane. We walked up past there a few weeks back and I can remember seeing a ridiculous exchange rate...my husband commented..'never again'. He too was lured by great rates once and was 'done' for quite some money. A lesson learnt.

It's the old saying..if it seems to be too good to be true then it is. Usually the scammers offer a rate rp11399 or the likes and the honest ones are around rp 10600 this is for AUD

Nearly scammed , ..tourists staying in villas along laksamana street, better watch out...do not hope for a higher exchange rate but would not issue a receipt....you're very much at risk....we tested them twice ...

This has being going on for years. The problem is that some people leave their common sense at Denpasar immigration and walk around in a dream. I doubt anyone gets scammed at home.

While ever people choose to use these kinds of money changers they will stay in business and people will be 'ripped off'..... stay away from them

I was advised by driver to all the reputable money exchangers and haven't had a problem. ..they all had signs out the front saying authorized money exchangers....oh and they said dont be swayed be higher than the exchange rate. Dont be greedy and you shouldnt get ripped off
