Seminyak Fine Dining choices

I have limited amount of time in Seminyak and thus must make some hard choices. I would like to have something from each category. Please pick one in each category or nominate your own.

category 1 : fusion/french with paddy view

Sardine or Metis?

category 2 : Breakfast with a view

Breeze at Samaya or La Lucciola ?

category 3: Southeast Asian

Bambu or Sarong

Hi, my suggestions would be

1) Metis

2) La Lucciola

3) Sarong

I haven't been to Bambu yet, something I plan to rectify next trip.

I can only answer the last 2.

La luciola, gorgeous breakfast with a view.

Sarong.....gorgeous.

Metis (superior to a Sardine in every way in my opinion - a superb restaurant)

La Lucciola (it's an institution and the view from upstairs is great)

Sarong (to be fair I haven't been to Bambu, but sarong is probably my favourite restaurant in the world)

I think a consensus has been formed. I agree with the above (Metis, La Lucciola, Sarong).

To throw a spanner in the works, there are quite a few new fantastic restaurants hat have opened in the past 18 months (we have reviewed all of them).

Masuman and Barbacoa should be considered. Of course you will be spending time at Potato Head??

while Barbacoa looks very nice, I am from Texas where there are many Mexican restaurants and Mexico is just a skip/hop away so I will perhaps skip for this time.

Maybe for lunch though.

I believe only Sarong and Bambu are dinner only?

Understood. If you do go there for lunch, you may find Barbacoa more Aussie than anything else.

Sardine is the one disappointment on the list. The food, service and facilities (worse than average bathrooms for example) have all gone rapidly down hill.

Have just walked out of Sardine. Having eaten there for 3 years in a row we looked forward to it as a highlight of our trip....... Our booking was totally stuffed up, and the attitude we copped from senior Sardine staff was appalling. Someone needs to remind them who the customer is!!!! We got up and left.

We have just walked across the road and managed to get a table at Metis (where we had a superb meal 2 nights ago). No need to ask our opinion..........Metis all the way!
