Just wondering what the weather has been like for people who have been to Phu Quoc the last week or what to expect in October

1. Re: Weather in October

I learn from a person who just left that Phu Quoc was sunny last Tuesday; however, October is still the tail end of the rainy season there, so there's no telling what will happen the rest of the month.

The locals suggest that you go to the east side when it rains.

Somehow, due to the current, the beaches on that side, are affected in a polar fashion from the West beaches.

Sao beach and Khem beach (on the East side) also have whiter sand than the other beaches.

They are affected by the Northeast wind from November through April, when the currents are stronger.

This is the in-season for the West beaches where most of the hotels are located.

From October, the water in Phu Quoc is warm and clear, beautiful beaches and some rain are ecpected, but it will not be a big problem. Phu Quoc is best travelled around December onward so October is good time to go to avoid the crowd.

I'm considering a stay in the last week of October this year. Do the rains normally clear by the end of October? And if it rains, is it normally full days of uninterrupted downpours or a few hours of tropical showers at a time?
