Thanksgiving in Red River NM

Our family plans to spend Thanksgiving in Red River NM. It will be my first visit --what should I expect and what is there to do? Several members of our family enjoy skiing, but not everyone. What are the recommended restaurants, shops, attractions, etc. We will have two children in the group, but rest are adults. Are there shops, wineries, music venues (C&W, Jazz, ??). Are there recommended day trips 3 hrs or less. Thank you.

Thanksgiving is still early season for skiing. Also cross country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding etc. Red River is an isolated, small ski resort town in northern NM. Not a lot going on. Check this website.... http://www.redriver.org/dining

Forgot to add, Taos is a great day trip, and even Great Sand Dunes Nat Park in Colorado.

Thank you for your comments and the link to Red River dining options? Any recommendations or places we should avoid?
