When's the best time to go skiing in Red River

My boss gave my family an all expense paid trip to Red River for a week. We have never been snow skiing and would like to know the best time to go. We have 3 children ages 5-14.

Probably mid to late January until end of February/early March

Red River is a smaller ski resort, but nonetheless a favorite of thousands, including many who bought property there and own condos there.

Snowfall in our region usually starts falling heavy enough to ski in December with huge crowds through the Winter Holiday season including Christmas and New Years.

A really well-kept secret here is that January is super quiet. Being as remote as we are without commercial air service (Santa Fe and Albuquerque are closest), we tend to have really quiet January days of BlueBird Skies and feet of fresh powder. It's really special.

We recommend that you avoid the Spring Break crowds in March, but Valentines or President's Day are typically fun with lots of powder.
