Help with lodge for family

Hello everyone, we are interested in visiting Sabi Sands for 3-4 days. At the time of our hopeful trip in the summer of 2015, we will have a 17 year old, a 15 year old and a 14 year old. Over these four days, I would love to try and keep the price at around $10,000, but would still love a luxurious lodge. However, we would also love a lodge that is generally kid friendly, but I am not too worried about this as the animals will keep them entertained! So with all of this, any recommendations? As you can all can probably tell, I am pretty new in researching this vacation and would love any help!!

Lion Sands River Lodge has two rooms that connect and two rooms that allows triples for your kids: http://www.more.co.za/interactivemap.asp

MalaMala Main Camp will work and should be close to your budget.

Savannah has one nice family room.

SIngita Boulders and Ebony have family rooms but their rates will blow your 10k budeget.

These are some of the options in your range and one over.

Londolozi Founders and Varty Camps also have inter leading rooms which are great for families.

Your children are not that young that they specifically have to be in a room adjoining yours (unless you specifically want that), so you really do have a wide selection of lodges to choose from, and the lodge can just ensure that your family stays in 2 rooms next to each other.

Lion Sands River Lodge does have a couple of suites with what we would call a sofa bed that would work for the youngsters to share. The two younger ones would have the 50% rate.. So, with you parents, plus one child at the adult rate and two who add up to an adult rate - you would be charged for four adults. At R8780PP per night, you would be asked to pay R35,120 per night.. At today's rate of exchange: $3300. That would pay for 3 nights, using your budget. Transfers (from Skukuza airport) will add another $250 or so. This would work.

Londolozi, mentioned above, would not. All five of you would be charged as adults, and you would need Superior Chalets at either Varty or Founders - at R10,450PP. Almost $5000 per night.

I could suggest Elephant Plains. They have Luxury Suites for two and for three guests. Some agents overlook Elephant Plains whenever they hear the word 'Luxury' - but if you look at these suites, you will see how spacious they are: vimeopro.com/user6272381/the-sabi-sand-safar… All five of you would pay full adult rates - but these are only R3500PP.

You could also consider Inyati. Have the adults in an Executive suite, the boys in a Family suite.

And Savanna? - Yes, their Savanna Suite would work. They sell it for a flat R42,000 per night next year. It is a spectacular choice, with two huge bedroom suites and a large elegant living room between them. It includes some 'perks' such as your own Land Rover, butler & waiter. It's over budget. Might be worth it.
