Food in the Ski Area?

We'll be visiting Taos for 2 nights in early December. While we're not skiers and we'll be staying downtown in Taos......we would love to be able to drive up for lunch or dinner in the Ski Area, to see some snow and hang out for a bit.

Any cool places to go for lunch or dinner with great views?

We had a nice lunch at Stray Dog a few years ago...might be worth checking out. http://straydogtsv.com/

Stray Dog is great in terms of the closeness to the main parking lot. Skiing Magazine recen.tly had some comments on how "hot" their chili's were, but don't let that scare you.

The Ski Valley has announced a limited schedule this year for the beginning of the season -- only open 4 days a week --- so you might want to check to see what's actually open (we're not sure who's staying open yet, sorry).

You might want to call the Taos Ski Valley Chamber of Commerce to ask them for details once you're a little closer to the actual day you're driving up. (575) 776-1413

With all the snow they've been getting with predictions of much more on the way, it should be absolutely beautiful even if you just drive up to see the scenery.

The Ski Valley website now has 4 different webcams available if you're interested:
