What to do and seating for ceremony

We will be attending the 2012 induction, we will be arriving Friday and leaving Monday. We will be staying in Cooperstown and am looking for advice for 2 people in our mid thirties for things to do.

What events are going on that weekend, any decent golf courses nearby? Any nightlife, bars?

When should we get to the Clark sports center for really good seats? How early can you leave your chairs to claim a good spot?

Since the crowd should be a small one this year, there isn't much need to stake out a place at the Clark Sports Center too early. The field can hold 50,000+ fans, so is pretty big. The difference between getting there at 8am and getting there a noon might be 100 feet.

Cooperstown tends to be pretty dead at night, though there are a few bars in town. I'm not a golfer, so can't help you much there.
