1. Re: The Hamptons

I believe that "The Hamptons" would encompass East Hampton, Westhampton, Hampton Bays and Bridgehampton. East Hampton is a specific town/area of The Hamptons.

Google "South Fork" Long Island & you should find websites that have what to do, lodging, restaurants, etc.

Well it all depends on where you want to go.

East Hampton is part of "the hamptons." The hamptons consists of east hampton, Montauk (which is part of east hampton town), southampton, hampton bays, sag harbor & westhampton. Each town is very different from the other.

Montauk is a small town filled with mom & pop stores, surfers, and you can walk to everything in town. East Hampton and Southampton are very similiar. They are filled with Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Coach, Armani stores. Sag harbor is sort of like Montauk as in it is small and they have some mom & pop stores as well. Sag Harbor is a very quaint town that sits on the harbor.

So let me ask you this... what are you coming here for? to go to the beach? relax? shopping? And how much are you willing to spend on a motel room?
