Its back again. Every weekend in February.
Thanks ADK! Never been, always thought about it...we don't ski or own a snowmobile - but thought it would be fun to see LG in the winter. Is there enough open as far as restaurants, shops at this time? Thinking of taking the kids just to see the events and go ice skating.
You are welcome NJBossFan. Normally during the winter carnival the Village is mainly open (not everything). The other places Like Bolton Landing are not. Of course the places in Queensbury for more food choices are open as usual. It is fun for an overnight and spend a day there. I was up there today and there is no ice on the main part of the lake but there is some in the bays. There is also virtually no snow. Without ice or snow I would not make the trip up from NJ though.Edited: 02 January 2011, 21:28
ADK, is there ice on the lake now, thinking of carnival on Feb 19
I haven't been in two weeks or so but it has been bitter cold lately so it must be very solid by now. Yesterday it was -20 without a windchill. This weekend is expected to be mid 20s.
I was up on Saturday, and the lake was frozen shore to shore.
It must not have been very thick yet because there were no snowmobilers out.
Did you see any fishing huts?
I saw a few fishermen out, but no huts where we were.
Sorry for the delayed response, ADK!
