Lake Placid with a teen

Anyone have any, must do suggestions for our trip. We are going in February for a long weekend with our 13 year old son. I thought we would snow shoe or xcountry ski, do the tobaccan run, skate at the oval and maybe catch a hockey game at the rink. Anyone have any "off the beaten track" ideas? Thanks!

Don't forget downhill skiing and or snowboarding at Whiteface. If you all don't want to do it let your son do it. I never met any kid 13 year old who wouldn't love downhill skiing or snowboarding. Toboggan runs are fun for kids of any age. How about bobsled rides and luge rocket rides? Go to ski jump. Go to Paul Smith's Interpretive Visitor Center, visit the Adirondack Museum of Natural History in Tupper Lake. Check www.orda.org for more activities. Click on Places To Go, Things To Do, Events To See. There is always so much going on this time of the year. Great time to be in the Adirondacks. Dress warmly and enjoy the area
