Mid September trip

Do certain activities close right after labor day. We are a family with two kids ages 4 and 8. Mostly interested in the Olympic attractions but will be researching other activities as well.

Most Olympic venues are still open after Labor Day though some have more limited hours such as riding the bobsled. The others are open for touring. Take the drive up Whiteface Memorial Highway which has a beautiful view from the top though the drive down can be a bit nerve wreaking. Also, the gondola ride up Whiteface (limited hours) is very nice. The museum and ice rinks are nice to tour just for what they represent. Wander the main street in Lake Placid, lots of shops, so bring plenty of money to spend. Good restaurants all over the town. Ask the locals for their suggestions, they will give you the REAL scoop. We like the Brown Dog Cafe, Mirror Lake Inn, The Cottage, Cafe Rustica, Cascade Inn just outside town, Bluesberry Bakery among numerous others. Check Trip Advisor for the suggestion there. Good luck and have a great trip.
