Visiting Boston & Niagara Falls from the UK

We are planning on visiting Boston and Niagara Falls in October this year from the UK. We keep reading that when we go to the Falls we should stay on the Canadian side. Our aim is to have about 4 days in Boston then get an internal flight to the most appropriate airport, but we probably won't have a car, so will that be Buffalo or Toronto? We plan to fly back to the UK from Niagara Falls too.

Has anyone done anything similar that could advise? Thanks.

Hi Ice,

I believe that the Buffalo airport is closest to the falls about 25 miles away vs Toronto which is about 80 miles away. You would rent a car, take a shuttle or a cab to your hotel.

They both offer nonstop flights but the flights from Boston to Buffalo are much less expensive than into Toronto if that is a consideration.

The Canadian side has much more to do but you can easily walk there from the US side.

You will have a nice trip no matter what you decide.

sunryz710 is absolutely right about the internal flights, much better and cheaper to fly into Buffalo. For returning home, however, there will be no direct flights from Buffalo, so you might want to look into flying from Toronto or Hamilton, where there will be direct flights and prices will be considerably less than from Buffalo.

For getting to and from the airports, Niagara Airbus (www.niagaraairbus.com/)services both airports, or there are several others from Buffalo to Niagara Falls (buffaloairport.com/GroundTransportation.asp)

As for which side, there are many many discussions on these forums about that. The Canadian side only can offer Fallsview hotels rooms, and generally has more to see and do.

You might want to check the airline JetBlue for flights from Boston to Buffalo.
