Samaki Lodge has real Italian influence because was under Italian Management (under Oral Resorts properties)and Italian charter groups sales set up.So,they are well experienced in Italian market.

Is in a quite place,Uroa Village.About 50 minutes good driving from Airport/Stonetown.

The best area for Snorkelling and swimming:-

Snorkelling-North East Coast and North Coast, and other part of East Coast like Uroa Village and Pongwe Village, these area are very closed to the best marine reserved areas including the famous Mnemba Atoll.

Swimming -Almost all beaches are good for swimming, but these will depend on your interest. All beaches are affected by tide except at North Coast whereby you can swim at all states of tide.

Would you say good tho? Samaki Lodge ? food and fish etc.. beach and hospitality & snorkelling and chilled ? not a big place with lots of stars and frills ? that is not what we want. Something, clean, nice and relaxing with character etc..quirky perhaps etc.... also, the North coast is the only bit non tidal ? does it matter to be north east, looks like you can swim when tide in and interesting when out ? what about where the samaki lodge is ? for beach and swimming and snorkelling - thanks lots Sharon

Hi Sharon,

Zanzibar has character and laid back quirky charm by the bucket load, if you know where to look! As you seam to have loads of questions my biased advice would be to contact a Zanzibar specialist, it won't cost you any more money and they will be able to help you make the right choice for you and help you with all the other aspect of your trip. Whilst this forum is great not many people have visited more than one lodge which makes it difficult to make accurate comparisons.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

I note in post 1, "italian charters'. Do you want a place with a bunch of tour groups?

I also note that PureZanzibar is in UK, and not exactly suggesting their services, but they have a point that it makes sense, as you haven't been doing a lot of research, that you may want to consider asking some professional advice, or read through the TA section of Zanzibar resorts.

Everybody's idea of 'good' is different. You have to read more and make your own decision. You can also use the Search option above, or the entire TA search engine and see what details you get.
