Fira vs Oia

We are going to Santorini in early October for 4 days.

We are a mature couple. We are going to relax and our primary activities will be drinking wine, seeing the view, and exploring the streets. Mobility is not an issue.

We are looking for nice accommodations under 200 euro a night ....not fancy but hopefully with some view of the water.

We would like your thoughts on which of the two towns to stay in.???????

My initial thoughts are that Fira may be too crowded and Touristy

1. Re: Fira vs Oia

Fira will have calmed down significantly by October but will still be busy compared to Oia. Oia will be peaceful except for when the cruise ship land tour buses arrive for about an hour or so. Because shops and restaurants begin to close for the season in October Fira will have a larger selection available but Oia will still have some open while you're there. If nightlife is not something you seek beyond a few mellow bars and cafes then Oia would be my recommendation.
