Cave House, Majestic Hotel or Cosmopolitan Suites???

Hi guys,

I am going to be going to Santorini with a girlfriend (we are in our late 20s) toward the end of May and need a hotel. After reading the posts and checking websites, the Cave House, Majestic Hotel and Cosmopolitan Suites seem like the best bets. We want somewhere modern with a great pool (and hopefully a young, single crowd). What are the pros and cons of these three? How far are they from town? To give you a sense of our aestetic, we are staying at the Fresh Hotel in Athens and either the Belvedere or Theoxenia in Mykanos. Thanks so much!

Check your information again regarding "The Cave House" as I don't see a hotel listed anywhere by that name. 'Cave house' is a generic term pertaining to the indigenous architecture of Santorini. Many hotels have cave house rooms if they're on the cliff overlooking the caldera.

The Majestic Hotel is far from a youth-oriented hotel. You can find a clone of this hotel in any large western city. There's nothing particularly Greek about it. The view of the caldera is marred by the fact that the main road to the ferry port and the south end of the island runs by outside between the view and those rooms that have that view.

Cosmopolitan Suites is a good hotel.

Assuming you want to stay in or near Fira, also check Scirocco Apartments, Villa Ilias, Nomikos Villas, Loucas Hotel, Volcano View Villas/Hotel, Porto Fira Suites, Aigialos, Tzekos Villas, Dana Villas, Sun Rocks and Homeric Poems.
