Imlil or Ourigane?

This question has been posed many times but we stayed three nights in both locations with a taxi transfer via Asni...try and make it a Saturday to take in the berber market. We found the scenery in both areas to be entirely different..imlil has the look of Nepal I think whilst Ourigane has forest scenery on the mountains. There are particularly Gorgous hotels in Ourigane area. Great location to chill out to the constant sound of birds, the local river and the frogs! Be prepared for a possible culture shock in imlil which you will soon get over....one of the many highlights was seeing the local Berbers doing their daily chores through the village street every day. It's a different world entirely!

Most berber families if not all have a mule each and it's fascinating to watch them doing their daily chores travelling to and from the village proper

Difficult question but we would choose Imlil because we don't think we will ever see a village like it again! The highlight was the mule trek up in to the mountains ending with mint tea in a Berber household and also the guided walk through the many Berber villages. We enjoyed the interaction both in English and French with the local people all very friendly and trustworthy. We left our small bags with the taxi driver in Asni whilst we visited the market en route to Ourigane. All was well.......it's not something we would do back home.

We researched all on the internet and spent three nights marrakech in a riad. They organised our transfer by local taxi to Imlil. We spent three nights there and our Dar imlil organised a taxi for our transfer to Ourigane

for another three nights. Our transfer back to marrakech was arranged by our hotel also
