Stone Town on a Sunday? Quiet/closed?

We're spending 5 days in Zanzibar arriving early Sunday 25th March, and leaving early Friday 30th.

We planned to spend first and last nights in Stone Town, but are wondering if it might be pretty quiet on the Sunday (shops closed etc).

To see Stone Town at its most characterful, would we be better off going to the beach Sun-Wed then spending our last two nights in ST instead?

Zanzibar/Stone Town are resort areas, so not closed on Sunday.

Most of the inhabitants here are Muslim, whose holy-day is Friday... still things are open.

Everything is normal throughout the week.

Except Holy-Day of Friday whereby most of shops are closed for general pray from 11h00 - 14h00 some till 15h00 then they open again.

My opinion,is better to take last two nights in Stonetown
