For a 7 day stay you are best flying to Perth from Melbourne.
7 days itinerary.
Fly Melbourne to Perth - 4hr flight.
Fly Perth to Monkey Mia - stay day/ night.
Fly MM to Learmouth - stay 4 days.
Hire a car from Learmouth Airport or catch the shuttle to Coral Bay (see above thread for details.)
it depends on your budget..??

Ellemay is spot on. Make your reservation. Hope it isn't all booked already. You are going to visit one of the most scenic area's in Australia! It's 2 full days of driving Perth-Coral Bay so better take EM's advice and fly.
Honestly, thank you both for all the info. Very helpful indeed. Am attempting to book everything this weekend so the excitement is kicking in
Lucky you, I do hope you also fall in love with CB.
Hope your plans are going well.
Just a tip for the North at that time of year, it will be very hot...you could be experiencing 40-45 degree temps.
I would definitely fly to Exmouth and treat yourself to a couple of nights at the Novotel, then hire a car and drive to Coral bay (1.5 hrs).
stay at either the Peoples Park in a self contained unit or at the Reef Resort (Pub).
I may even see you there :oD
I truly wouldn't bother with Monkey Mia. There are about 200 people and approx 2 dolphins. You are better off asking around, as I believe not too far from Monkey Mia there is another place to visit with dolphins in the Bay and not so many people.
Yes I have to agree, I would not go to Monkey Mia thinking I'm going to get close to Dolphins, their is slim chances of that happening, becasue 100's of other people are thinking the same thing! Still Monkey Mia has plenty more to offer than just the Dolphins, so I still think it's worth a visit. Just be informed on places before you go.
