driving to beech mtn vs sugar mtn?

Just how bad are the road conditions getting to beech mtn in the winter? Im trying to decide on going to beech or sugar. We are intermediate skiers.

Sugar Mountain is easier to get to than Beech Mountain. You pass right by Sugar on the way to Beech, then proceed very steeply up the mountain to Beech. That said, unless it is actively snowing, the roads are plowed promptly and kept passable. Beech is higher elevation and is more likely to have natural snow and more of it than Sugar. Beech has a high speed quad to the top of the mountain....Sugar does not. Sugar has a longer vertrical drop and is considered to have better advanced runs than Beech.

During peak holiday times, both will be very crowded.
