A good, not so expensive place to stay?

I live in Tennessee and I am bringing my son up to Tweetsie Railroad sometime, probably in July. We are probably going to stay overnight. I went to Tweetsie railroad when I was around 10. I AM 43 NOW! :-) My son is 8 years old and loves trains. I need to find someplace that would not be too expensive but would also have some quality to it. I'll pay a little more for quality and safety; I'm not going to "cheap out" and risk my health. Can anyone recommend a place?

Thanks for your help!

In Blowing Rock try Days Inn or Cliff Dwellers.
