Thanksgiving dinner

Any thoughts on a restaurant I could make Thanksgiving reservations for my family of 4?

We're looking for a cozy (fireplace??) place where we won't be rushed.

We've only driven through town while traversing the Blue Ridge - liked what we saw and wanted to go back. There are so many restaurants in the area, and they all look good...its hard to pick one.

We'll be staying in a local cabin and want to have a splurge Tday dinner.

Thanks!

Hello from "wet" Blowing Rock". So glad to see the rains.

I can offer some suggestions, but you would have to check and see if they will be serving for Thanksgiving.

Cozy Firplaces brings to mind:

Twigs 828 295-5050

Best Cellar 828 295-3466

Crippens Country Inn and Restaurant 828 295-3487

Chetola Resort 828-295-5500

Let me know if more help is needed.

Thanks queeni - the 1st 3 you mentioned are, in fact, closed for the holiday.

Any thoughts on Gamekeeper Restaurant or Mast Farm Inn?

My first choice, if the family of 4 includes children, would be Chetola. Game Keeper , I think, is more adult oriented. I am in Blowing Rock now. Check on Chetola and let me know. I can call around for you.

Thank you for your help :)

The 'kids' are actually 21 and 24, so we could go anywhere - to me the appeal of Chetola would be that we can walk around a bit before and/or after dinner.

I wonder, though, if it will be packed, and therefore we will be rushed to make room for the next wave of diners.

Add to your list Rowland's at West Glow Spa, and The Inn at Crestwood, which is very near The Gamekeeper. A favorite of mine is Storie Street Grill right downtown-not for Thanksgiving but for the day before or after. There are also some good options in Banner Elk.

Thank you for your suggestions. Chetola is already booked for Thanksgiving, so we are going to the Mast Farm Inn.
