Thanksgiving in Boone area

We are considering spending the Thanksgiving holiday in Boone this year. I realize we probably cannot count on snow that time of year, but we're hoping to ski. Are there any ski resorts open that early and do/will they make snow? If not, what other options are there for activities that time of year, at the ski resorts or elsewhere? Thanks!

Opening day at the NC ski resorts changes yearly depending on winter conditions. Most years the ski resorts in the Boone area are open for Thanksgiving. And if conditions are good they will be making plenty of snow.

If it is cold enough, yes, snow can be made. I am sure the ski mountains are anxious to get going since it was so warm last year.

Not knowing your interests, I am listing several local websites that might help. Since fall is so popular here in the mountains, you might keep checking for Thanksgiving updates.
