Polar Express - where to stay?

Can anyone recommend a clean, economical hotel near the Polar Express? We have a 2.5 hour drive, so we're thinking of spending the night before returning home...

I was disappointed that Santa's Land in Cherokee is ALREADY closed for the season! Hoped to do that, too.

There is a nice HOliday Inn Express very close to Dillsboro - I think they have an indoor pool.
